These shorts are made from 95% rayon and 5% polyester. Rayon is a semi-synthetic cellulose fiber that drapes more softly and weighs less than cotton denim; the denim-wash finish is a surface treatment applied to the fabric rather than an indicator of fiber content. The 5% polyester adds minimal durability to the weave. No spandex or elastane is present and the shorts carry no stretch, which supports the waistband holding its shape rather than relaxing over the course of the day.
