Material Composition
100% cotton. Cotton at this weight is breathable and absorbs moisture well, which makes it a practical fabric for warm-weather wear. No synthetic content means no added stretch, so the smocked bodice provides the fit flexibility rather than the fabric itself - the smocking expands and contracts with the body without elastane. At 100% cotton, the fabric holds its shape through washing and wear without pilling or developing a synthetic sheen over time.
Construction Details
Wide straps - approximately 2 inches across - provide shoulder coverage and structural support for the smocked bodice below. The neckline is a straight or square cut running across the chest. The bodice is both smocked and ruched, with a center tie at the bust that creates a small bow detail when tied. A lace insert band at the empire waist separates the bodice from the skirt - this lace is visible and decorative as well as serving as the structural waist seam. Below the lace insert, the skirt is full and A-line in cut, flowing in cotton without clinging. Partially lined through the skirt for opacity and body.

Care Instructions
Machine wash cold; tumble dry low. Cotton at 100% is stable through cold washing and low-heat drying - these settings maintain the fabric's shape and the integrity of the lace insert at the empire waist. Following them will also preserve the smocking elasticity and the color of the white fabric over repeated washes.
